Acute medical admission dataset from two hospital sites in one NHS trust (2021–2025)

Description
This pseudonymised dataset contains administrative information on adult patients admitted under acute medicine across two hospital sites within a single NHS Trust between 1 April 2021 and 31 March 2025. The dataset includes all acute medical Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) attendances and all acute medical admissions recorded in the Trust’s admitted patient dataset. Variables include admission method, ward movements, length of stay, discharge details, diagnoses, demographic characteristics, 30‑day readmissions and 30-day deaths. The dataset was extracted by the Trust’s Information Services department and provided in secure Excel format. It represents the raw data used for subsequent analysis in R via RStudio as part of a cohort study comparing SDEC with short‑stay acute medical admissions.
