Abstract
This dissertation has been submitted in partial consideration for the degree of Master of Research (MRes) at the University of Nottingham’s Business School (NUBS) for the academic period of 2015-2016. It culminates the first year of a 1+3 years funded PhD scheme of the Economic and Social Research Council’s (ESRC) Doctoral Training Centre (DTC). The remaining PhD research project would build on this dissertation.
This research is funded for four years (2015-2019) in a joint collaboration between the ESRC, the Business School and UK Department of Transport (DfT).
This dissertation has been supported by stakeholders to initiate an exploration of how the maritime ports sector could share information towards achieving resilience. Academic literature has been initially reviewed supplemented by Observations, Interviews and Document Analysis, from participating in meetings between stakeholders. Innovative research techniques using Corpus Linguistics have been applied while alternative perspectives via Actor-Network theory have been considered providing unique holistic approaches to tackle with information sharing and Port Resilience.
