Clinician-patient communication of medical imaging results: a scoping review

Description
This scoping review explores factors considered in the communication of medical imaging results between healthcare professionals and patients. The review forms part of a PhD research project looking at the development of a communication toolkit to aid discussion of lung MRI results in cystic fibrosis (CF). However, this review adopts a broader focus than purely MRI and CF, in consideration of both the paucity of literature and potential benefit of exploring a wider context, in terms of learning from approaches taken in different health areas and with different imaging techniques.
The findings of the review will be used alongside the results of a survey to understand the current evidence base and inform the development of subsequent focus groups.
